There actually is gravity there! Gravity is in fact everywhere! It is Sun’s gravity that keeps Earth and other planets spinning around it! And Sun is spinning around a black hole in the middle of our galaxy (Milky Way) due to black hole’s gravity. The same way Moon’s gravity causes tides on Earth!
Every two objects are attracted towards each other. It is a function of mass (weight) and a distance. Because Earth is very very big compared to us and we are literally standing on it, we mostly feel only its gravity as it overprints any other gravitational effects that are around it.
