Methane is very hard to measure, it comes from cows belching, peatlands, permafrost (which is the organic material underneath the defrosting ice in the poles), landfills, fossil fuel extraction and other agriculture. There is a great deal of uncertainty with it, but somewhere in the range of 136,986,000kg – 273,972,000kg is realised globally each day!
