• Question: What would happen if the ozone layer was gone completely?

      Ozone is very important in filtering out harmful sun rays. But in reality it is the Earth’s magnetic field that keeps most of them away, ozone helps to stop those rays that get past the magnetic field. So if the ozone layer was completely gone we would not instantly go extinct, but we would most likely have to stay out of direct sunlight most of time and wear a lot of sun cream all the time.
      There are already places in the atmosphere where ozone is very scarce, such as above Antarctica.
