Australia is huge, much of the centre is uninhabitable as it is soo dry and hot! I lived in Melbourne, which is on the coast like all major towns and cities in Australia. In Melbourne, we had hot summers usually 30degC and low humidity and in the winter in Melbourne its usually around 10degC. In the winter there are high mountains inland which has good snow for skiing, its about a 3-hour drive to the mountains.
