A rock won’t necessarily grow once it is formed, however it can change from one type into another if exposed to lots of heat or pressure. When this happens new crystals can grow but they will grow by the break down of other minerals already within that rock. It’s like baking a cake, the ingredients stay the same but you can make a few different things under certain conditions!
